FREE Introductory Lesson: Horseback Riding Lessons Have you been wanting to experience being on a horse in a safe, compassionate, and understanding setting? Do you have a younger child or teenager who has been wanting to find their dream horse? Are you looking for a safe, supervised setting to enjoy nature, peace and quiet, and beautiful horses? If so, Hunt View Farm is the place to go. Every Sunday at 2pm we offer a free introductory lesson to those that are interested in exploring our riding programs. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Hunt View offers riding lessons (English and Western style) for first timers all the way up to the show circuits, and we train and board horses as well. In fact, we are known for our ability to work with first time, timid riders – especially young children and adults of all ages. A hidden jewel along the Potomac, Hunt View is the perfect option for busy professionals and their families working or living near DC. Give us a call to schedule your lesson at 443-536-8593; we’ll have your horse saddled and waiting for you! Remember – every Sunday at 2:00pm. We do limit this offer to two (2) riders per group or family. If you’d like to schedule a larger group for an introductory lesson, call us and we will figure it out. Hunt View Farm announces Spring Camp Hunt View announces its Spring Break Camp! If your high school age student is looking for something meaningful to do over Spring Break, sign up now. Students will be supervised by a professional riding instructor for a full week in learning about horses, caring for them, grooming, tack (saddles, bridles, etc), and yes - riding. Easy access from Bethesda, Potomac, and Rockville. For more information, contact Sally Wisniewski at 443-536-8593. Volunteers and Working Students Wanted Hunt View Farm is seeking volunteers of all ages to care for horses that are in need of attention, riding, and pre- and post riding preparation. While we are not a charitable organization, this is a valued volunteer opportunity for those interested in spending time around horses. Much of the experience of being around horses is being part of the barn community and is fun for all. Volunteers - after being trained by our professional staff - will be asked to do things such as retrieving horses from large pastures, grooming, tacking up, taking tack off and cleaning it after lessons, and ensuring that horses have been properly attended to before being put away. We may also ask volunteers to assist in getting horses ready for the blacksmith, veterinarian, or simply taking him/her for a long relaxing walk around the property. Mucking stalls is not part of the work we expect from volunteers as we have paid staff to do this on a daily basis. This is a win-win opportunity for those wanting to spend time with horses at a professional horse riding and boarding farm with supervision for no cost as well as benefitting horses that enjoy being fussed over. It really makes a difference for the horses. This is also a perfect experience for teenagers that wish to "hang out" at the barn on weekends or during the summer, as this can be translated to real work skills. Only 30 minutes away from Bethesda, Potomac, and Rockville, our location is convenient for frequent commutes. For those volunteers that are interested in being in the Working Student Program, volunteers can ride selected horses at least once per week with a requirement of taking one paid lesson per week from our on-site instructor to ensure that proper riding skills are developed and enhanced. Riding helmets are required to be worn by all riders.
For more information, call Sally Wisniewski at 443-536-8593.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
